Career highlights:
- Originally from Newcastle, England, Chef Catherall began his culinary journey at age 15, enrolling in a four-year apprenticeship at the Royal Turks Head Hotel after completing his education at St. Aloysius School.
- He later moved to the United States, where he served at Cherokee Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
- In 1990, he opened his first restaurant, Azalea.
- He followed with the opening of Tom Tom’s in 1993.
- In 1995, he was featured on the Discovery Channel’s Great Chefs of the South and Great Chefs of America
- Although Tom Tom’s closed in 2003, Chef Catherall went on to establish a collection of acclaimed restaurants, including Prime, Twist, and several others across 13 locations in Atlanta’s Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza.
- In 2016, he opened Tom Tom’s Tapas & Tequila and Tom Tom’s Kitchen & Bar.
