Peter Timmins, CMC
Master Chef Peter Timmins earned the Certified Master Chef title in 2002.
Career highlights:
- Chef Timmins was an Irish-born Certified Master Chef whose career spanned more than 40 years in some of the most respected resort, club, and hotel kitchens in the United States.
- He began his culinary career at age 17 in Dublin, apprenticing under Master Chef Roger Nobel at the Royal Hibernian Hotel, and later attended St. Mary’s College in Dublin, where he also lectured.
- He went on to compete internationally as a member of the Irish Culinary Team, including at the IKA Culinary Olympics in Germany.
- Chef Timmins became Executive Chef of The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, where he led a brigade of more than 150 chefs and cooks, oversaw multiple food operations, and helped guide one of the country’s most respected culinary apprenticeship programs.
- Throughout his career, Chef Timmins held senior culinary leadership roles at The Greenbrier, Baltimore Country Club, The Gasparilla Inn & Club, and The Everglades Club in Palm Beach, Florida.
- He also received the ACF President’s Medallion, a fellowship from the Epicurean World Master Chefs Society, and an honorary doctorate from Johnson & Wales University for his contributions to the culinary arts.
He passed away on October 27, 2014 at the age of 57.
