Master Pastry Chef Manfred Bast earned the Certified Master Pastry Chef title in 1984.
Career highlights:
- Born, raised, and educated in Rheydt, a borough of Mönchengladbach in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
- Emigrated to the United States in 1965, beginning his U.S. culinary journey at Manufacturer’s Country Club in Dresher, Pennsylvania.
- He worked for many years as an Executive Chef and an ACF Certified Master Pastry Chef.
- He was also a proud member of The Honorable Order of the Golden Toque.
- He was a chef for Fidelity bank and ARA (now Aramark), as well as a professor at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College during his working career.
He passed away on November 4, 2023.
